Mission Preparations

Well the bad news was that we had to cut Christopher's flowing locks to take this picture.
The great news is that as of this evening Christopher met with the Stake President and his mission papers are now
submitted.
The Stake will take a few days and then they will be off to the Prophet in Salt Lake.
A handsome young man, ready to serve the Lord.

Reeses Pieces Concrete

It was thoughtful of Mike to bring us a treat from work when he came by last night with a smile on his face. He came for a little visit and to pick up a few more of his things like his winter coat as he has plans to go snowboarding with the Reyna family this weekend. Luckily we got the boys new winter coats when we flew home for Christmas 2008. The coats we had from 2002 didn't fit so well anymore. Timothie had taken to wearing Christopher's old boots at college because they were so much warmer than anything she could find in Arizona so we bought her new really warms ones, for girls.
It has been two weeks since Mike moved in with his friend Derek and his sister Shawna. With the exception of an ingrown toenail  that is back for the 4th time, he is doing very well. He has good friends, good food, cool wheels and work to keep him on the go...not to mention that he is working hard to finish all his high school classes a year early and graduate this summer.

Wisdom

It's just like pulling teeth. Christopher is doing real well after having all 4 wisdom teeth extrated yesterday morning. It was so quick I was still on the phone with the insurance company when he was ready to go.

So Much

The Lords blessings are so real. He lets me give to him my burdens and allows me to see the blessings I have.
It is my turn to count.

Important events in our lives really allow us to study ourselves and find out more deeply who we are and more importantly who's we are. In reflecting I found what I wrote back in highschool.
Life is a time, when we should try to be the best we can be.
It is a goal, a dream
To be shared with those whom we love
And in a way we our proud to remember.
As I think back on my childhood I know that I made many mistakes. At times I seemed to favor the ones that could be seen by anyone driving past our house. I was a little crazy. What was I thinking?

One day my Mother shared with me a quote from Relief Society that went like this:
Don't put off what you want MOST
for what you want right NOW.
this quote became a big deal to me. I began to think about what I wanted most. I began to understand that the things that brought me saddness were the things that I thought I wanted right now.
I began to realize that I didn't have to learn the hard way. I began to put away the crazy steph in order to find out who I could be.

No matter all my mistakes I know that my Father in Heaven loves me. He loves all his children more than we can comprehend. He knows our potential. He provides for each of us perfectly.

Teach me to walk in the light of his love.
Teach me to pray to my Father above.
Teach me to know of the things that are right,
Teach me, Teach me, to walk in the light.

Come little child and together we' ll learn
of his commandments that we may return
home to his presence to live in his sight
always always to walk in the light.

Father in Heaven we thank thee this day
For loving guidance to show us the way
Grateful we praise thee with songs of delight
Galdly, gladly we'll walk in the light.

The happiest times of my life are the times when I put him first.
