Monstar

Christopher's team earned 3rd place at the final tournament. This was the 3rd year for a 3rd place finish... We will be losing half the team to graduation, so it will be interesting to see how next year will go.
The really cool part was the next week when he played in the All-Star game. Players from the East went up against players from the West, and Chris was on the winning team as they worked very well together. At half time they had a 3 point and a slam dunk contest that were fun to watch as he slammed the winning dunk.

After the game was over they presented a trophy that was voted on by all of the coaches in the league for PLAYER OF THE YEAR to our Monstar!

Opposition in all things

They say a picture is worth a thousand words...what words come to your mind?

Playing Basketball Skills

Player of the week:

Class A Varsity Boys

Chris Maughan 19 points

*Went coast to coast for a huge dunk.

Also had a big block for the end of the game.

I found this on the Basketball Web site and thought it was pretty cool.
Chris has been working very hard all year to improve.
He will hopefully be playing club ball in March to aquire more experience and to keep on building his skills.
This has been a season of ups and downs due to injury to his back...
Chris seems to be healing from the hard hits and getting stronger.
This last game Chris's shot seemed a bit off, he said so himself -but when the game was over he had made 29 points.
Opportunities for a dunk do not come often but when they do it gets everyone pretty excited...especially Mom.
We hope the season will finish in a very positive way. The team will look very different next year as there are 5 seniors they will be loosing to graduation.
If the team plays at their potential they could win it. Last year they took 2nd.
Either way they learn and have fun doing it!
