Surprise!

I think this is the biggest smile I have ever seen on my Mom's face.
Steve, Mike and I surprised her on a Thursday afternoon
in plenty of time to enjoy Canadian Thanksgiving and a certain 75th birthday celebration.
Now just who's birthday we were attending will have to remain a secret of course.

Homecoming 2010

Here is Michael looking sharp for the Homecoming Dance.
This is the year for suits around here!
(I wonder how long this will actually fit him? He is taller than me now and growing.)
This is Christopher's buddy JK he will be serving in Mexico and leaves Oct 13th for the MTC.
We were able to go to his ward and take notes of his talk to send to Chris.
Best wishes Josh!

These are the Letter- days

Pday for Elder and Hermana Maughan
WE came home from work today to find emails from both of our missionaries.
This is the first we have heard from Timothie since she arrived at the MTC.
Things are going well for both.
WE LOVE getting their LETTERS!!!
These are my Hug Memories for the next little while.

"Be yourself; everyone else is already taken" by Oscar Wilde

\
Our book club went on a yearly retreat up to Pinetop.
We wore hats as we read through the play The Importance of Being Earnest,
then we watched the movie called The Ideal Husband by Oscar Wilde.
We discussed the book The Help by Kathryn Stockett.
What a great group of Ladies. Each one as unique as our hats.
Great conversations,
Yummy food,
Beautiful and cozy setting.
An amazing time had by all, except when it wasn't~

Day 1

That's our girl!!!!! We love her so much!!!!
We had to do a little last minute shifting of items from one bag
to another on the scales of the airport.
Both bags are now an even 50lbs and we loaded
a few more things into her back packs.
How does a girl pack for 548 days?
(especially when nylons are involved!)
Hurrah for Israel!
She is already doing great.

As we walked away from the airport I said to Steve
she will miss us more now than she did when it was time for college...
How we grow.
Having her home with us these past 8 months has been so wonderful.
We feel so blessed with the time and the memories that we have shared together.
Though we are apart, we are close.
Our hearts are at peace and united in many ways.
We will share now in new adventures...in new ways.

Presenting Hermana Timothie Maughan

It is official.
After receiving a beautiful blessing and setting apart
Timothie is ready to serve her mission in Chicago, Illinois.
We will leave very early tomorrow morning for the airport.
I am her companion for a few hours.
We are so excited for her.
Ready or not off she goes. Back in 18 months...

“I will not be still.”
I’ve never been the kind to testify.
I don’t have the words his truth deserves.
But it’s a simple thing he asks, a worthy heart and willing hands.
He says if I’ll make the choice he’ll help me find my voice.
He calls me to serve and I cannot fail him.
The one who has given me all that I have.
I place my trust in him alone, He knows the yearning of my soul,
because he believes in me I will go willingly.
How can I keep this gift to myself?
When I can lift somebody else?
I am a witness of his miracles and his mercy.
I put my future in his hands, knowing he’s made me all that I am.
When I put my faith in him the truth begins to speak.
His power is real it moves me until I will not be still.
